Engel Chevalier was founded in 2003 following the merger of David Engel’s and Gilles Chevalier’s companies. The latter now presides over its destiny.

Engel Chevalier offers Patrimonial engineering services and advice to contribute to the development and sustainability of their clients’ wealth. Together with the client’s professionals, they develop insurance strategies that will harmonize and improve the strategies already in place.

Gilles Chevalier is a financial planner, financial security advisor, insurance and group annuities advisor.

He was Chairman of the Board of the Association de Planification Fiscale et Financière (APFF) in 2004 and a member of its Board for 6 years. In 2003 he was co-chair of the APFF Annual Meeting and a member of several committees of the same association.

Gilles is a board member of CALU (Conference for Advanced Life Underwriting) and served as Chairman of the Board in 2017/2018 and President of the Annual General Meeting (annual conference) in 2017. He was a member of the Task Force, which participated in consultations with the Ministry of Finance on the development of the new Insurance Tax Law.

Gilles has given numerous conferences on financial and tax planning for business owners, APFF and other associations such as the Canadian Association of Financial Planners, Chambers of Commerce, Banks and Insurance Companies. He is also a regular speaker with tax experts, chartered accountants and lawyers. He has given many interviews to specialized magazines and the Insurance & Investment journal magazine featured him in their special edition ‘’the top 20 leaders in Canada’’. 

Gilles has been a member of CALU (Conference for Advanced Life Underwriting) since 2003, member of Advocis since 1997, IQPF since 1993, APFF since 1994, and the Financial Security Chamber (AIAPQ) since 1979.
